After writing The Unethical Boycott of Whole Foods Inc., I received a lot of feedback. In this article I seek to clear up any confusion I have caused and respond to some of the critiques. In this way I seek to get to the bottom of my points and, if at all possible, give credit to my critics who I feel ask important and fundamental questions regarding the nature, not just of my article, but of the issue at hand. I also, admittedly, seek to verbally abuse the boycotters out of their idiotic stupor. I can only hope they are not so terrified by privatized healthcare that they will miss my points. Oh, and a final carrot before the steak, I feel that public healthcare system would be a huge step forward for the United States – don’t confuse my critique of your mass-hysteria with delusion.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye! One left week to register as an Ontario Progressive Conservative Party member and vote!

(When it comes to the idea of provincial PC’s , the first thought that should enters the mind is “is there a differentiation between the federal and provincial parties anymore?” )

In any case, May 14 is the deadline to pony up ten bucks for party membership and a right to participate in the June 21 and 25 “preferential ballot” vote, in time for the Markham convention on June 26 - 28. [i]“An advance poll will open on Sunday, June 21st from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm “according to the official OCPC website, and “Voting day will be Thursday, June 25th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at voting locations across the province.”

editorial: Abolition Now!

I’d never noticed that slavery hadn’t been abolished. I’m 68, born and raised right here in the U.S. of A., and until a few weeks ago I thought that slavery had been abolished. Except, of course, as punishment for a crime, but what’s wrong with that? I’m a law-abiding citizen, and criminals do need to be punished, right? But with slavery? Shouldn’t hard labor (involuntary servitude) or even the death penalty be sufficient?

Then I tried to imagine the death penalty being abolished except as punishment for a crime.

Doesn’t make sense does it?

The have posted a frequently updated blog to inform people on what is occuring, as well as their demands and the events that lead up to the events. The title of the blog / information post is ‘The New School in Exile’

The event’s catalyst, some would say, is former Nebraska Gov. and school president Bob Kerrey’s vote of no-confidence (kind of what like Prime Minister Stephen Harper has engaged to prevent here in Canada to protect his non-democratic mandate).

Nassau County D.A. Dismisses Charges Against Hempstead 15, Civil Case and Redeployment Fight Continues

We continue with some good news in a story we broke internationally: Nassau County D.A. has Dismissed Charges Against Hemsptead 15, while their civil case still makes it’s way through the courts. Sgt Chiroux still faces prosecution for his refusal to redeploy and that case continues to develop as well.
