editorial: Abolition Now!

admin @ December 20, 2008 # 2 Comments

I’d never noticed that slavery hadn’t been abolished. I’m 68, born and raised right here in the U.S. of A., and until a few weeks ago I thought that slavery had been abolished. Except, of course, as punishment for a crime, but what’s wrong with that? I’m a law-abiding citizen, and criminals do need to be punished, right? But with slavery? Shouldn’t hard labor (involuntary servitude) or even the death penalty be sufficient?

Then I tried to imagine the death penalty being abolished except as punishment for a crime.

Doesn’t make sense does it?

Opinion: Speaking Truth to Truthers

admin @ November 12, 2008 # 2 Comments

As a wise person put it, the losses are permanent, the victories are only temporary. Each new shock comes before we have recovered from the last one. JFK was assassinated 45 years ago and there is still no closure.

The American people don’t want to know the truth and they will not rise up. They are comfortable with genocide. Ask yourself how many dedicated peace activists you know personally who voted for continuing war crimes under the command of Barack Obama.

Many of the Democratic gatekeeper sites urged people to vote for Obama by saying that first we had to elect him and then we could hold his feet to the fire. But they already knew from his FISA vote, his vote to fund the wars, and his bailout vote, that he has asbestos shoes and doesn’t care what people say or think. Now they are purging dissidents and saying that nobody should criticize Obama, that we have to accept the “centrism” of Rahm Emanuel and Nancy Pelosi, two Democrats who are far to the political right of Bush and Cheney. They never intended to press Obama for peace, they wanted more genocide.

Oct 23-Third Party Debate News Update

admin @ October 23, 2008 # One Comment

As reported by Free And Equal, the Nader Campaign, And the Constitution Party

other relevent sites to visit are www.breakthematrix.com and www.thirdpartydebate.com

As reported, ALL candidates have been invited, and one must ask about the absence of the “main candidates” in a system that a) considers itself a ‘democracy’, b) has the mainstream media not report this event whatsover, and c) fails to report on the reason that voter turnout, in the most basic understanding of math, ignores the essential majority that has no faith in the system at all to even bother registering a ballot. It’s not rocket science –in fact, it’s a cry from the people for something else. And a suspicious thing when 2 parties control access to information…

How Third Parties Will Navigate Around Denied Access

admin @ September 26, 2008 # No Comment Yet

The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) requires 15% in at least five national polls to participate in the debates and the current, two-party candidates have acquiesced to the thresholds created by the CPD. Garnering 15% in five national polls is a high bar but not unachievable IF there were actually five national polling firms that fairly included third party and independent candidates.

EYEWITNESS Account; RNC Day 4, Police Block St.Paul Bridges‏

admin @ September 23, 2008 # 2 Comments

My brother and I live in Minneapolis, very close to St.Paul, -within a 10
minute drive to the RNC (Xcel Energy Center, downtown St.Paul). On day four
of the RNC, we went down to once again witness and video the grand old
circus, -kept safe by a massive police state. Our aim was to post up the
news and events that we saw to our Kucinich forum friends at the RNC. This
is the news from that day as it looked to us.

Op Ed Guest Presidential Candidate, David Jon Sponheim, “On the Destiny of US Involvement in Iraq”

admin @ September 22, 2008 # No Comment Yet

Unlike the plan to build a tri-state government in Iraq, I don’t want to force the Iraqi government to adopt any government devised by the U.S.. That can only lead to more hostility and sectarian violence. Separating people that once lived side by side in harmony makes no sense. We all have seen what the break up of Yugoslavia led to. That pattern is not the pathway to peace. It is only a new path to War.

I would offer the Iraqis a simple solution to their deeply troubled Nation. I propose that we assist the Iraqi’s in building Weapons Free Safe Zones where they can prosper in Renewable Energy Villages far away from any threat of Terror.
