Like wot we do for such a shorthanded and unpaid group of newshounds? Independent of corporate influence and driven by news content and context?

Please consider going here: http://shortyawards.com/about/

and filling out “@shortyawards I nominate @globalpunditorg for a Shorty Award in #news because…”

we’d feel somewhat vindicated for the hard work we’ve done and the long way we’ve come since just July, started by a staff of ONE:

~ from RNC and DNC reports and original photography,

~ the Canadian Federal election,

~the Ron Paul Rally, The Nader Rallies,

~to the Prez and VP debates,

~breaking the IVAW mistreatment at Hofstra Presidential Debates,

~Nader’s 21 City Marathon,

~election night in Chicago, IL,

~interviews with luminaries such as Robert Young Pelton, Cindy Sheehan, Pres Candidates Chuck Baldwin, Bob Barr,

~Union Busting…and so much more, a small nod would be a nice little notice. For us, anyway.

We’ve had our photos and stories and audio interviews picked up by, and contributed to, numerous websites, blogs of note, and news outlets, from AP to United Nations UNIFEM to www.ThirdPartyWatch.com to Free Republic to Huffington Post to www.theUptake.org to Dandeliion Salad to www.OperationItch.com to NowPublic to www.DigitalJournal.com to www.Current.com to community AND mainstream radio, to foreign press such as Metro Europe, African and East European press, and independent media all over North America.

And all with a budget of ZERO dollars. yes, $0. zip, nothing, nada.

With no $ our standards can still remain high, but our expectations low - but with organizations from AP to United Nation’s news picking up our stories, we must have done something right…right?

As editors, we are extremely proud of the calibre of our contributors which includes many first time citizen journalists, academics, established writers, known personalities, and prominent activists.
