Kwik update: we’re here!

Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Democratic National Convention, Hillary Clinton, Iraq War, John Dean, John McCain, U.S. Election 2008

Democratic National Convention - the day before:

After the typical flight delays, baggage claims hassles, and 96 hours straight of “awakeness”, we’re here in Denver - and although this kind of post , the “i just wanted to say we have nothing at the moment to say”- is generally kind of lame.

So for the moment I’d like to defer readers to TheUptake.org to have a peek at what we got up to at Elitch Gardens (a free party sponsored by Google called ‘A Party with Altitude’), or make sure to visit Rocky Mountain News to read about just a fraction of the planned official events. Another good reference is www.DemNotes.com .

For now denver banner we’re just getting out bearings (it always takes a while to get to to seeing so much military and police  presence), getting to know the layout of the city - and making sure to pull together a great list of resources outlining everything that’s going on.

Finally -  a little bit of a caveat. The content will increase tenfold (as time allows and demands), and we’ll continue with news-based editorial reporting - but it’s important for people to understand that the context changes when you get into the thick of it.

And this context actually makes for some very important points of discussion.

You’ll understand what I mean once we broach the subject.

For now, it’s credential pick up day, and the time will be used to break in the new shoes. And the bootlegged 16G Sandisk memory card on the Camera.  And getting used to people stopping me because they “recognize a Canadian accent”. Abd of course, we’ll be scouting out to bring you the best we can to justify the kind of traffic that this site has, gratefully, be recieving.

In The meantime, can we recommend you take some research time and compare the Democratic Convention of 1908 to the Convention of 2008?

We promise you’ll find it interesting. Eh.
